Before Ronspot, Metso Outotec had an employee car park where they allocated spaces to employees each day. A problem started to arise when employees were choosing not to drive to work/use their space without telling the company admins. Not to mention, having 278 employees and only 160 parking spaces.
Therefore, spaces were going unused in the car park. Around the same time, Metso Minerals and Outotec merged to become Metso Outotec, or the MO Group. This meant the office wanted to offer up as many spaces to employees as possible to maximise occupancy and increase efficiency.
In order to manage these parking spaces fairly, MO Group chose Ronspot to manage their parking. What was the key features used by Metso Outotec?
MO Group found that assigning credits to employees was a fair and transparent way to allocate parking spots. Admins decided to give employees 2/3 credits a week to make bookings. This ensures that the parking spaces are used each day.
MO Group also set group booking rules. This means the company has separated employees into two pools – one with credits and one without any credits. Ronspot allows companies to create rules for specific employees or teams. Finally, using Ronspot allowed Metso Outotec to empower employees and make them responsible for managing their own parking requirements at the office. Therefore automating parking management, and reducing administration.
“We worked directly with Michael and Daire to setup the system and we could best use our available spaces.” Our team ensured the most efficient usage of the system.
Employees in Metso Outotec were “very satisfied with Ronspot and how it has been an enabler to open up parking access across the company”.
“The app allowed us to push the admin of the parking spaces back to the employees and made them responsible for managing their own parking requirements at the office.”
Credits have been a wonderful idea … 100% happy with the system and service.
