Metso Outotec
What problem was Ronspot introduced to solve?
Before Ronspot, Metso Outotec had an employee car park where they allocated spaces to employees each day. A problem started to arise when employees were choosing not to drive to work/use their space without telling the company admins. Not to mention, having 278 employees and only 160 parking spaces.
Therefore, spaces were going unused in the car park. Around the same time, Metso Minerals and Outotec merged to become Metso Outotec, or the MO Group. This meant the office wanted to offer up as many spaces to employees as possible to maximise occupancy and increase efficiency.
How has Ronspot helped to solve this problem?
MO Group found that assigning credits to employees was a fair and transparent way to allocate parking spots. Admins decided to give employees 2/3 credits a week to make bookings. This ensures that the parking spaces are used each day.
MO Group also set group booking rules. This means the company has separated employees into two pools – one with credits and one without any credits. Ronspot allows companies to create rules for specific employees or teams. Finally, using Ronspot allowed Metso Outotec to empower employees and make them responsible for managing their own parking requirements at the office. Therefore automating parking management, and reducing administration.
